DIODE (PN-junction diode)
Diode is a one of the semiconductor device. It’s has a two terminals that Anode and Cathode. Diode used for the circuit one direction current flow, That is positive to negative. The Diode actual name is PN-JUNCTION DIODE. PN junction are elementary block of semiconductor electronic device such as Diode, Transistor, solar cell, and Integrate circuit (IC).
CONTRUCTION
The
Diode actual name is PN-JUNCTION DIODE.A p-n junction is a interface between
the two types (P-type, N-type) of silicon material inside a single crystal
semiconductor. The “p” (positive ) side contain a more than holes, and “N”
(Negative) side contain a more than electrons and Outer shells of the Neutral
Atom there
FUNCTION
. The PN junction created by Doping or
iron implantation. That meaning is the net movement of the electrons from the
layer of high resistance to low resistance. Anode contain a excess of holes and
Cathode contain a excess of electrons. When positive suppy given to Anode and
negative is cathode, at excess of electrons move to holes Diode will conduct.
Diode separate the two types from based it’s function

FORWARD BIAS
REVERSE BIAS
FORWARD BIAS
Positive supply is applied by the
Anode terminal, and Negative supply applied by the Cathode terminal of Diode is
called as a Forward bias. If external voltage becomes greater then the value of
potential value is 0.7volt the depletion region decrees and current will be
start to flow. Diode is conduction mode for forward bias
REVERSE BIAS
Negative supply is applied by the Anode
terminal, and positive supply applied by the Cathode terminal of Diode is
called as a REVERSE BIAS. If cathode
voltage less the value of Anode the depletion region increased this
cause for resistance value is too increase diode is not conducted but reverse
bias
